How far ahead can I book?
We will not accept bookings for gigs greater than 12 months in advance.

Do I have to pay a deposit?
We only require a deposit for weddings. A deposit of 10% is our usual recommendation, to be paid as soon as possible.

What happens if I need to cancel?
We understand that problems can arise and we'll be happy to accept your cancellation and return your deposit in full if you inform us 4 weeks before the agreed event date. The full gig fee will be payable if 7 days or less notice is given.

Sounds good! How do I book?
You need to contact Adam by email or by calling 07720 841424 to discuss your requirements. Once a date has been discussed you will need to complete a booking form (found here) and return it to us, along with your deposit (if applicable).

What form of payment will you accept?
The only acceptable form of payment is cash. The deposit may be paid by cheque made payable to "A Lane".

Can I hear Jazz Breakdown before I book?
We would not expect you to book without listening to us. You can do this in three ways.

What styles does Jazz Breakdown cover?
We don't just play Jazz. We also cover Light Rock (Killing Me Softly), Funk (The Chicken) and Latin (Watermelon Man).

Do you play Trad Jazz?
No.... never.

How long will you guys play for?
We usually play three 45min sets with a 15-30min break in between. If required, we can provide background music via CD whilst we break. Of course, this can be tailored to suite your requirements.

How long do you need to setup and sound check?
For weddings and larger venues, we will arrive an hour before we are scheduled to play. For smaller gigs and venues, it will take around 30 minutes to be show-ready.

What are your requirements?
We are not rockstars, however we do have the following requirements.
- A clean and level playing area
- A couple of power outlets near the playing area
- Payment in cash as soon as the gig is over
- A few complimentary drinks would get us in the right mood!

What about a PA system?
Jazz Breakdown are a completely self-containing band. We have our own PA and microphones, but are happy to share another band's PA system as long as it is up to the job and in good working order.

What is your dress code?
For weddings and high-profile events/functions we usually dress in black. For pub and smaller gigs we dress in smart casual style.

Can you perform in a smaller group?
We realise that a 7-piece band may be too heavy for the type of evening you've got planed so we can also perform in the following formations.
- Duet: Sax or Trumpet, Keys
- Trio: Sax or Trumpet, Guitar & Bass
- Quartet: Trumpet, Keys or Guitar, Bass & Drums
- Quartet: Sax, Keys or Guitar, Bass & Drums
- Quintet: Sax, Trumpet, Keys or Guitar, Bass & Drums
- Sextet: Vocal, Sax, Trumpet, Keys or Guitar, Bass & Drums
